Mark Wisch
Captain Mark Wisch owns and operates Pacific Edge Tackle, manufactures
a complete line of live bait tanks and still finds the time to fish aboard his
25’Parker “Pacific Edge.” From fishing with the top local marlin and swordfish
anglers and running yachts in Cabo, to having his own skiff to fish from all
his life, Mark epitomizes the Southern California private boater, a fact
reflected by columns he writes in both Western
Outdoor News and Western Outdoors magazine. He also calls in a
weekly private boaters report to Lets Talk Hookup(1090AM). To top it all off,
Wisch took his passion for fishing for a ride on the San Diego long range fleet
and readily became accomplished at all aspects of that style of fishing thanks
to trips of all kinds aboard the Royal Star. Mark graduated from Cal
Poly, Pomona with a degree in marketing and
currently resides in Huntington Beach,
California with his wife Chris and
their dog Emma. He has written three books, “Between Two and Twenty Fathoms”, “In
The Gray” and “Lessons from a Lifetime on the Water” and is just getting started on book four… “Way Out
West” a Private Boaters Guide to Fishing Offshore Waters. You can purchase Mark’s books, buy fishing
tackle, listen to his private boater’s report and much more at www.PacificEdgeTackle.com.

Chris and I spent a few days at the Island for the Fourth and I managed to squeeze in a few hours of fishing on Saturday. We spent some time before noon up by Toyon and managed a bunch of bass but nothing of consequence. I had headed down to Avalon to get side-tied for the evening when a phone call brought about a change of plans...

The list of custom touches is extensive and all were done with one
thought... “To be highly efficient in the pursuit of fish.” The boat
was designed and built to comfortably handle the overnight trips
necessary to chase yellows, halibut and the elusive white seabass at
the offshore islands off the California coast. During the offshore
season, albacore, tuna, dorado, and marlin all fall in the target zone.
