The Monkey Biz II caught a 1064 lbs blue on June 6th, captained by Chip Van Mols with mate Ryan O'halloran. The recently completely re-fit on this Bertram, what a great way to break in the boat. Congratulations to Chip and the team. We heard it ate a jet on a the stinger. Elephants and peanuts... For more info on Chip and the Monkey Biz charters, please visit www.monkeybizsportfishing.com. Our friend Vinny, who manages the Monkey Biz operations there has always been a great help and support to us. Good Karma.
This 1064 Pacific Blue is a dream for any Billfish angler and team. I've had around 200 days now in Kona, seen 4 and hooked 2 of them and none landed. (That's 1 seen in about 50 days of fishing) and let one go a little short in the 9's 2 years ago. Our Kona season starts next week, Steve is flying down Wednesday, OB is ready. I'll be going down on the 25th. Here we go, start of the season..
