Day 1
Received at 7:30 this morning-
Speed! We got to the Gordo in 34 minutes and have our spread out and live baiting in 45 minutes after the shotgun start from Cabo. Unbelievable what speed can bring...

11 a.m. update- No blue or black marlin boated yet in the tournament.  Some striped marlin biting on the Pacific side.  Lots of green water around.
This year there are around 50 boats entered, compared to around 70 last year.

Day 1 recap.
Lots of Stripies on the Pacific side.  GET OVER IT and SUMMERTIME were hooked up most of the day, buth have easy double digits in releases.  This tournament does allow a Striped marlin to be weighed over 175 lbs, which can win the dailies (or possibly the entire tournament if no blue or blacks qualify over 300lbs).  Both Bad Co teams fished well today, good focused day of competitive fishing.  Daily rolls over to day 2, should be fun.

Day 2 mid day report.
Fishing remains tough for the big blue and black marlin.  The water color is improving, but still streaky.  Two fish have been brought to the scales, but neither qualified.  One was a blue weighing 288 pounds, the other a striper that was short.  Still time for one today.

Day 2 recap.

Striped Marlin fishing on the Gate today was off, team 47 GET OVER IT had 16 releases on day one and only 3 today.  Water there turned off color.  They did boat one Striper that measured 91 short, but weighed only 152.  175 to qualify.  No blues and blacks boated yet over 300 lbs, both day 1 and day 2 dailies now roll to day 3.  it's a one day tournament.  One fish could be worth half million tomorrow if only fish caught and the team is across the board.   few more blues released today.

Badger and Crow's Nest continue to fish very well, CN had a striper released today.  tomorrow's the day!

Day 3 mid day report.
Steve Spina and team just weighed a 415 pound black for the first and only qualifier so far.  If the fish holds up it could be worth around $500,000.  Still some fishing time yet, so some last minute heroics are possible.
